RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and prepares for classroom instruction.
- Encourages the productive citizenship and respectful conduct of students.
- Identifies needed resources and materials for classroom instruction.
- Identifies resources to meet the needs of individual students.
- Uses a variety of instructional strategies to meet varied student needs.
- Provides a positive classroom environment that promotes student learning.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed for an orderly, productive classroom and school.
- Identifies students who need support and extra help, works with them according to individual needs and regularly reports to coordinator about their progress.
- Designs ways to keep a class of multiple-intelligence actively involved at different levels.
- Motivates, encourages, finds interesting ways to keep the learning spirit high throughout the year.
- Builds team spirit in students of his/her house group where he/she belongs Conduct and Mannerism.
- Behaves politely and shows respect to all students to help build self-esteem in them.
- Encourages the productive citizenship and respectful conduct of students.
Shows a sense of fairness to students and avoids partiality in all matters at all times. - Works cooperatively with colleagues, support staff, administration and the community.
- Demonstrates professionalism and high level of work ethics in all matters.
- Demonstrates positive school-community relations.
- Displays high level of financial accountability, honesty and reliability Monitoring and Documentation.
- Completes student progress reports including behavior reports accurately and regularly and submits them to the coordinator on time.
- Maintains accurate, complete records as required by Ministry law, school policies and procedures.
- Informs parents regarding student progress, the instructional program, and other school issues.
- Complies with Ministry laws, school policies and procedures Communication.
- Prepares for and communicates with family and student on academic goals and strategies.
- Conducts student/parent orientation sessions during the first month of school.
- Communicates monthly with students that are experiencing academic difficulty, non-compliant students, or by request of the student/parent.
- Plans and presents parent-teacher meetings.
- Collects, assesses, and provides timely feedback for assignments Professional Development.
- Participates in all relevant teacher training and development programs and activities
- Prepares for and participates in annual performance evaluation and appraisals for teachers.
- Contributes to information and knowledge sharing among peers.
- Keeps up to date with latest instructional and professional techniques to enhance education.
- Maintains portfolio recording his or her learning experiences and effectively uses them in their work.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work effectively with school staff, students, parents and members of the community.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; ability to plan, and organize.
- Skills in adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse people; meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; working as part of a team.
